Heinz, lost the original message you sent me so this wont be related to the one you just wrote but...

The drop in the Nikkei yesterday made headline news here both at 19:00 and 22:00 with special guest commentators invited to the news show. Could not believe they are blaming it on the regigging of the index done in April... WHile it is true that the nikkei dropped at the time the 30 new companies were added and 30 were taken out, no mention was made of the fact that it just may have been overvalued in the first place... instead the blame was laid squarely on the index reshuffle. Did they not wonder why they wanted to reshuffle in the first place ? ( to supercharge it...) They did mention that the brokers were the ones who benefited through increase turnover and commissions. In a short article i saw in the Yomiuri shimbun 2 days ago, new inflows into J mutual funds (by domestic investors ) registered their lowest growth since the start of the super funds (by Nomura and Daiwa) in June. They were highest at the top, buy high, sell low principle, too bad the J investors dont get to pick the MO MO option anymore...

I agree, a plunge below 15,800 will have us first to 15,300 in a hurry then , who knows, it looks like it could go down as fast from there as it went up coming off the lows at 12,800.

good luck to you,

stephan
