We want the businesses that can stand on their own and excel. Neither of the above could. LWIN was the gem, IMHO. ASICs clearly next, followed by Omni. I think they sold the others in the most strategically available fashion.

AND........leave the crown jewels behind as QCOM.

Anybody have any thoughts on Spinco's dealings with Ericsson?

Ericsson has a 3G license with the parent QCOM.

If Ericsson has essential WCDMA IPR, Spinco has nothing it can barter/x-license with Ericcson. Does this mean Spinco has to pay Ericsson real paper money? Or did the infra deal give Spinco/QCOM a license for Ericsson's IPR?
