Don't do either because it disrupts your psychology

I honestly hope that I have not messed with my psychology too much by my little short gambit. I'm obviously more tempted to do it some more.

However I have to say that I have equal or greater psychological problems with either of the following:

a) Stay long even though you know the stock is going to drop 25% or more in a few days.
-or-
b) Get out and wait until the POS has finally based and broken to the upside.

a) leaves you disheartened and discouraged
b) leaves you happy to be free of the stock and makes it hard to get back in on the way up. It also enhances the trading mentality.

Anyway- for now I'm back to long and riding through the muck. If I ever had a day without ATHM in my portfolio I'm afraid I could never bring myself to own it again. Lame that I need to play such emotional games- but it's reality.

I'm certain that yesterday would have been the bottom in ATHM if it were not for the collapse in the market. Who's gonna buy ATHM when CSCO is -5?

BTW: I don't think the stock will base around 20. Thats been done already and failed. This time I think it bases around 15.
