It was identified in the June 2000 Red Herring magazine as one of the 50 private companies that will change the world. The Herring article also says that Lee Hood endorses their technology. Lee Hood is the king kong of genomics sequencing equipment, the same equipment that got Craig Ventner on the cover of Time Magazine. Also if you do a full text search for "Illumina" on this site, you will find articles where people believe it's a killer app. I may be very wrong but I think it will run some more.
