Waikato - if you visit the place you'll understand how they would get into the Bad Word thing ... outside of a few interesting people at the university it's pretty booooring ... not far north there is a place called Manurewa ... during the war the main barracks for US forces on R&R in NZ were there, and the inmates insisted on calling it man-URE-wa ... and you can imagine the vernacular terminology ... it is a maori word pronounced man-ur-EH-wa actually, and means something, i forget what ... probably 'boooring'.

Of course my attitude has been affected by spending time in Otago, with which only el estado de Chiapas could compete. In neither place are there Bad Words. No need, you see.
