I was a heavy smoker from about 15. I chain- smoked Camels for a number of years, and never fell much below 4 packs a day. Then, a few years ago, I decided to cut my intake at least in half. It took a few weeks to get used to it, but that worked out. Then, when I was 40, I quit. Shortly after I quit, my mother had a (mild) stroke, and I had to take care of a lot of things. I figured if I stayed "clean" then, I had no excuse to start again........and have been smoke free for over 3 years!

Good luck Haqi! I found when I quit a few years ago, the fear of withdrawal was a lot worse than the withdrawal really was.

The day I quit smoking I also quit shaving. I figured I had to get something out of it, even if it was just a beard. And for about a one week period, I told people what I really thought of them. It was great!

PS - I have long since lost the beard
