i try to near support. and cut loss if goes below.

using perentage stop is too subjective. 5% for a high-flier will whip saw you like crazh.

entry to me determines my success.

for a trending stock 00 let's say RMBS or JDSU. then i use a moving average which it hits and bounces off as it trends up. i try to nab it there. (sorry, can't disclose the parameter that i use)

also for trades, i look for trades with a 3:1 winning ratio. which means i want a 3 point gain for 1 point risk.
if the ratio is unfavorable, it means it's not worth the risk/time for the trade.

im very selective and feel quite happy if the market is up and did not do one single trade (that itchy finger syndrome took a long time to get over)
