Just a note that all of the big four in Intel based server development now have 8-way 700 MHz SMP servers for sale. Quite a powerful server. That's 8 CPU's on one motherboard, which has become a standard. Next stop is probably 32, but not sure if all four do that with Xeons (wait for IA-64?). The big four are CPQ, IBM, DELL and HP.
