Can anyone help with this ...

I'm trying to get a program to put insert a couple of strings into the environment table. At the command prompt, one can do this with the set command as in "SET VAR=STUFF", but I'd like to do this from within a program. (An .EXE file, not a .BAT file.)

I know that beggars can't be choosers, but if anyone has an algorithm or code fragment that does this, I'd appreciate hearing from them.
