Hi Mark,
I just installed the Windows Millennium edition. One of the things that I noticed is that the second set of instructions for rebooting with one click that I included below no longer works. The shut down instructions do work. Both of them worked with Windows 98 and 98 SE. Any thoughts own why that should be? I cut and pasted the command line instructions so it shouldn't be a case of typing the wrong letter in the command line.
"In our last tip, we showed you how to create a desktop shortcut that allows you to shut down with one click: Right-click the desktop; select New, Shortcut; in the Command Line text box, type rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows
and click Next; name the shortcut Shut Down, then click Finish. You can use a similar technique to create a Restart shortcut. Just follow the steps above, but in the Command Line text box, type rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindowsexec
And of course, you'll want to name the shortcut Restart."
