p/e by itself is meaningless imo. one needs to look at p/e relative to eps growth and the impact of a slowing economy on earnings growth - ie its sustainability....... several years ago many growth stocks were trading at p/e ratios equal to or lower than their growth rates.....today many p/es of growth stocks are several times growth rates........imo if you can buy a stock whose p/e is equal to or less than its growth rate, you are getting a great deal.....regardless of bull or bear market.

re. market....imo theres more than 50/50 chance that after current dip is over, we see strong rally beginning later this Q or early next Q and S&P reaching new highs.........with market subsequently tanking next year......
