Jerome,

I have found that switching out of one stock and into another based on quarterly expectations rarely will serve one's portfolio well. Sort of like trying to leap off of one train and onto another because you heard a passenger below saying the other train was going to reach its destination first.

A swap of some AMAT for some LRCX, KLIC, or SVGI would be my choice for the current time frame.

I did this awhile back with CSCO and some of my INTC holdings, rotating them into "value" plays. These value plays turned out to be even greater values months later while CSCO and INTC kept climbing past what I thought they would be able to do.

After experiencing the loss of my beloved CSCO, I swore that I would never get sucked into a similar situation again. Hence, my AMAT is off limits:-)

My strategy here is to add to positions I feel are extrememly cheap when I can, but to minimize the rotating out of one and into another. The bulk of my AMAT shares have a cost basis around $7 or so. Selling them would require me to find an investment which will not only outperfrom AMAT, but do so by the 20%+ haircut I received from taxes. A risky propositon if ever I heard one:-)
