shootie, Wayne was the star!! It was about a guy who left a wagon train, and went down to Texas to build a cattle ranch. He picked up an orphan, played by Montgomery Clift after he grew up, and Walter Brennan was his oldtime buddy. When there were enough cattle to market, they launched one of the first cattle drives(in the movies, of course)to Abilene, KS. Somewhere along the way, Joanne Dru became the love interest, and there was a hell of a battle between Wayne, and Clift, over the herd, and her. It was released in '48, and has been called "The Mutiny On The Bounty" of westerns.

I, also, enjoyed "McClintock". Wasn't that the one where he threw his hat on the weathervane, when he got drunk?
