Yes, I saw that chart. But I just don't reach the same conclusion you do. If anything, it seems to me that the commitment curve is a near mirror-image of the S&P; that is, as the commitment curve goes down, the S&P goes up -- negative correlation style.

But I suspect there's room for interpretation either way. The correlation doesn't look very strong. (Subjectively --I haven't done any calculations.)

I'd be more convinced if someone would dig out the raw data, do the math, and present a lag vs. correlation curve. But that sounds like work. <g>
