Grenades are a little expensive on the remodeling as a defensive weapon. Ruger makes a neat single six .22. Nice learners piece. Start with the CB, short and long rifle. Then go to the other cylinder, the .22 mag. Increase the volume gradually. Next stop the .357 shooting .38's.

Wife's first and only use of a gun in home defense was when I got back from Canada a night early. My buddy found a window open and was crawling through when he heard the snick of a Smith .44 Mag being cocked. When he heard freeze he did except for a little urination.
