McDonalds might well end up selling CDMA ASICs. Imagine a cellphone dispenser loaded with pre-pay phones. People could pop in, EFTPOS a phone and be on-line in seconds.

Sure, it's not ready yet, but wait a year or three and cellphones will be everywhere and if there isn't a Ronald McDonald cellphone I'll go he.

Imagine a McDonalds Hot Button on the phone. You could log on, enter your order, time to collect, pay for it, then drive up at the time you specify [or earlier if don't mind the couple of minutes wait while they get it ready].

Meanwhile, it's fun waiting for the Carmmunicator/Ford/QUALCOMM/Globalstar announcement tomorrow.

I hope Motorola doesn't get their nose in a knot over Carmmunicator, because according to Rose, Motorola got Carmunicator months ago. Actually, I far prefer Carmunicator to Carmmunicator.

Motorola didn't like the Q-Phone use of a clamshell design and went to the extent of stealing a sample to check it out. Maybe a similar problem is going to arise here. Or, maybe Motorola is in on the deal and will produce the Carmunicator or Carmmunicator using Q! technology, with Globalstar in there too, with Ford installing them and selling them.

That makes sense. A Motorola-Ford-QUALCOMM-Vodafone-Globalstar win-win-win-win-Winn situation. I like that!

I wonder if some Globalstar shorts will be scrambling for cover tomorrow.
