The answer is yes, you will have a long term gain on your PALM sale if you sell now, because you are deemed to have held your PALM as long as you held your COMS. See the relevant section in the COMS info sheet:

And I'd suggest you double check with your broker, accountant or tax preparer if you're not sure.

COMS at approx 5.017 cost and PALM approx 18.858 cost based on the formula related in Alski's post #44241.

I believe that you have applied the formula incorrectly. 18.858 represents the cost of 1.483974012 shares. If you test to prove that your costs are correct by multiplying the number of shares that you own by your new costs the sum total should equal your original cost minus the fractional share.
