Rick...this doesn't answer your question but I'll make a related comment. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Verizon (formally GTE Mobilnet here ) and Sprint have been promoting and advertising like crazy. I'd guess Pacific Bell would be a somewhat close third in terms of apparent marketing efforts.

No SBC in San Diego. GTE here is also CDMA but has been bought by ATT recently. Last I heard GTE still doesn't know what will happen to their network in San Diego.
