<Are you saying American Express actually follows and has an opinion on Rambus?>

Don,

I have two accounts with American Express, and they provide their own analysts' reports as well as S&P reports. The following is a quote from their reports' page.

"American Express Financial Advisors is pleased to provide you with Analyst Reports. We have more than 25 securities analysts who routinely meet with senior management of the companies they track as well as analyze financial data in creating their recommendations and reports. Use these Analyst Reports to obtain a wide variety of information on hundreds of public companies."

My guess, and it is strictly that, is that AmEx is constructing its Rambus report based on a composite of information gathered from outside sources, rather than having their own analyst who follows the stock. However, the above quote from their reports' page appears to contradict this opinion.

AmEx analysts rated the risk level as speculative, and state that, "investors willing to take what we consider higher than normal technology-related risk should look to add to positions on weakness."
