Tazio,

I have visited more than a few food challenged towns in my life. In some of those little hamlets, road kill, missing dogs and the local blue plate special might have something in common. I don't know.

But I do know it's sometimes a very big relief to spot the golden arches. Granted, it's not steak nor even a good casserole, but it is quite consistent from town to town. And for fast food outlets, Mickey D's does have some of the best fries around.

So I tend not to ridicule the cardboard and ketchup sandwiches, because one never knows when that may be the most appetizing meal around. <g>
