Hi bp,
I agree, this process not only wrings out the excesses, but also acts as a culling device for the weak companies out there. As painful as it can be, for the long term good, it needs to happen.

Funny you mention that as I have noticed the same thing. My take has been that the cycle is about 10 days off. In spring I usually have expected a rally in early March and a sell-off starting around April 15. The rally this year started in late February and the sell-off was sooner than April 15. The summer rally I would normally expect around June 10-15 and the sell that follows to reach its bottom in the August 10 range. We started to rally on June 1 and we shall see where our bottom comes but to make a long story short, I agree with you.
