I am anticipating price to move up in an attempt to test today's high before I am willing to start looking for evidence that today's run up is finished. There were indications earlier today that the market was going to SLLOOW down. I have seen molasses run faster in January. LOL

Despite the initial gain in the NASDAQ, including +88 for the NASDAQ 100, so far kind of looks like an uncertain and somewhat mixed market. DOTs and Semis up along with cyclics and financials. This includes interest in the high tech blue chips, including CSCO and ORCL, which I find interesting. But the itnerest in the cyclics and financials are comparatively limited. Some of the DOT leadership also showing mixed results. YHOO and QCOM up while EXDS and AMZN and AOL down. Another interesting observation is the Biotech index is down a notable 20 points. The DJIA and TRAN up also, +66 and +49 respectively.

Don,

I agree with you completely. I think that even that (4k) might be a bit optimistic.

Today may be the window dressing that Fundies are known for doing, and we may see some interesting movements near the end of the day.

I notice on my list of 100 or so stocks spanning several sectors that 50% are down even though all the indicies are up. I notice that the smaller names are getting punished again. Most of the gains are in the larger names..

If we cannot hold 3700 this afternoon, I will be very worried for the close and the following days going forward.

I just hope that the larger names do not decide to give in, I know that many on this thread are in the larger names.

Donald, are you closing your long positions today?
