Richard,

The AMDroids and Ramtron folks are now irrelevant to Rambus.

The Ramtron technology is not incompatible with RDRAM The company appears to use or want to use DDR techniques but does not like the fact that Rambus holds the patents. Tough...

AMD will stick with sdram through the end of this year because they can not afford another major platform launch problem that is likely to occur with DDR. Perhaps, in Q1 of next year we will see some DDR platforms. Q1 and Q2 is the best time to launch risky new products.

In any case, by next year attention will shift to the real
battlefield which is the war between Intel and AMD. By that time Rambus is likely to have licensed 50% of the DRAM companies and who knows how many logic companies. Via may be facing ITC and patent lawsuits at that time as well.
