Re: PC1000 in PC's

The P4 has a 400 Mhz FSB which matches perfectly to the PC800 RDRAM. When they raise the clock rate of the FSB to
533 then a PC1000 RIMM will be matched well.

Actually, it appears that the PC800 can be further improved by using the higher clock rate Dram cell that is being used currently in the PC133. This was reported last week and is being implemented. Reduction in initial latency and lower power consumption seem to be the main areas for improvement in the PC800 RDRAM.

<In fact, while the headline says it has "133 per cent of the performance available from industry's fastest 800MHz RDRAMs", the body text only claims a 33 per cent increase. Shurely shome mishtake here? No. The maths is right...>
Don,

Is this a direct quote from Mike Magee's article? If so, then this paragraph illustrates that his math, spelling, and grammar are consistent with the substance of his articles. Perhaps one of his colleagues on this board could save him further embarrassment by sending an email and explaining that 133 percent of the previous performance is equivalent to saying that there has been a 33 percent increase. Also, while they're at it, they might try helping him with his grammar and spelling. After all, with a little tutoring from his friends, we might be able to get him a promotion as a writer for some weekly newsletter up here in the Maine woods.

Hope the Rambus bashers feel confident relying on sources like this for their ammunition.

A perplexed mathematician,

P.S. In a previous post I noted that the Bashers are operating on a different logic system. More evidence of it here.
