What do you think of the chances TI licenses VeDSL? Not trying to start anything, but was asked that question and it got me to wondering.

Thought I'd throw in the PR below.

DSLcon Poised for Largest Event Ever
DSLcon Fall 2000 in Boston Has More Sessions, Exhibits
MORGAN HILL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2000--DSLcon, a conference on digital subscriber line (DSL) technology with supporting exhibits, is preparing for the largest and most extensive gathering in its three-year history.

DSLcon Fall 2000, which will be held from Monday, Sept. 18 to Thursday, Sept. 21, will take place at the World Trade Center in Boston.

``We expect a record-breaking crowd,'' said Bill Weber, DSLcon General Manager. ``The sold-out exhibit space has increased by 100% over the event this past spring, and we expect to at least double the attendance we experienced in Reston, Virginia last fall.''

The three keynote speakers for the conference represent the growing influence of the financial community and the emerging breed of service providers. Kicking off DSLcon Fall 2000's conference program on Tuesday, September 19th will be Ken Hoexter, managing director at Merrill Lynch. He will be followed on consecutive mornings by two leaders from the competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) ranks: Elizabeth A. Fetter, president of NorthPoint Communications, and Robert Hale Jr., president and CEO of Network Plus.

``Our keynote speakers will be addressing some of the most interesting issues surrounding the DSL community today,'' said Peter Meade, DSLcon conference director. ``Ken Hoexter will focus on the financial side of the CLEC/DSL equation, Liz Fetter will address the broadband explosion in U.S. homes and Rob Hale will talk about first-hand experiences with voice over DSL deployment.''

Also on the program are sessions focusing on the marketing, technical and deployment issues facing service providers, equipment makers and end-users in the DSL community. Sessions that should be of particular interest include ``Voice over DSL for Residential Use,'' ``DSHell? Customer Perception vs. Industry Reality,'' ``DSL Goes Wireless,'' ``Advanced Line Sharing Strategies'' and ``Is This the Year of G.lite?'' In addition, there will be panels focused on the subjects of venture capital, security, virtual private networks, multi-tenant unit applications, home networking, CLECs and the chipset market.
