Michael,

CompactFlash is only one product that SanDisk carries.
I think they would be satisfied with everyone in the world
owning at least one CompactFlash card.

I own several cards because I also own the Cassiopeia E-100 and use it as an MP3 player and also use the card for file back-up. As I mentioned, I recently used a CompactFlash card for a PowerPoint presentation at work. (The file size was too large to use a floppy.) Thus, there are multiple applications for CompactFlash.

When you go on your first long vacation you may consider upgrading to a new card so you have one for backup. I think it depends on how much photography you plan to do.

I plan to buy my folks a CompactFlash-based LCD picture frame for Christmas if prices come down. I hope they will be able to pluck pictures from the CD's I have sent them and save their favorites for the picture frame. I suspect they will need a 16 MB card for that purpose.

Maybe we should ask SanDisk about their plans to increase attachment rates for CF in the digital camera market.

So you do use the serial transfer cord to download? How much time does that take to clear the 48 mb CF card?

I used to use the serial cord, and was just transferring a handful of photos at a time. Of course, that took too long. Using a SanDisk Imagemate now, and it is much better. Anyone that uses CF cards should have a USB reader!

Last but not least...I'll BUY one of those archival CDs!!!

You couldn't afford it, because the price would need to cover all the hospital bills that I would incur once my gf found out. Much cheaper to buy a magazine...;)

(My apologies to Betty Smallfelt for dragging the thread into x-rated territory.)
