The rejection of the death penalty is not a mark of higher civilization, but of a failure of confidence in one's own society and its right to define justice, exact retribution, and defend itself against predators. It is decadent........

TigerPaw, the consistent result of the death penalty is that society is insured that particular killer will not kill again. The protection and rights of society should transcend the coddling of one criminal.
