It's almost like some of the folks on these threads think 100MHz will equal exactly $10 in stock appreciation. Certainly the market cares about technology leadership, and it is probably the most important long term concern. But as far as the here and now, the market cares about earnings performance, not a trophy launch of a new microprocessor from either company.

Intel owns the high ground, the corporate & server market. If someone were to come on here and say they were losing that position, I would have to review my Intel holding. If AMD came out with a 1.5 GHz Athlon tomorrow, I wouldn't blink. GHz doesn't sell stock, profits sell stock (TM Not/McMannis). The rest is a lot of noise.
