The other music distribution companies can scoop those up. Actually, I think that the distribution is the least of the problems. How to make sure that all of the interested parties get paid is the more interesting problem. Obviously the idea that you trust the customer to do the right thing and pay for downloads or copies isn't going to work since the people making the stink now are insisting that the music should be free.

But I do agree that the music industry had better adapt soon and that the first company to adopt a workable internet distribution model will have an advantage over their peers simply in the reduction of material costs.
