SCUMbria - Re: "If PIII microcode is programmable by the BIOS, that seems like a big security hole. I suppose that it is plausible however, given the PID fiasco from last year where user software was able to infiltrate the programmable security features of the chip.
I doubt that Tom is lying, and I doubt that 1.13Ghz PIII is ready for production."

A few posts ago you "doubted" that a BIOS and a MicroCOde were inter-related.

Did you READ Tom's article yet - you haven't answered that question.

But based on your assertions and blanket assumptions, I am forced to conclude that you haven't read one paragraph from that article.

Instead, you come over here doing exactly what you claimed we would do had Tom found a problem with an AMD part.

EXACTLY.

SCUMbria - Re: "I doubt that Tom is lying, and I doubt that 1.13Ghz PIII is ready for production."

Why don't you e-mail Anand and Sharky and tell them that THEY ARE LYING !!!

Tell them there is NO FRIGGIN' WAY that they could have 1.13 GHz Pentium IIIs - 'cause they ain't ready for production !

And tell them that the not-ready-for-production 1.13 GHz Pentium IIIs that they DO HAVE keep crashing and they LIED ABOUT THAT BY NOT MENTIONING IT.

Tell them SCUMbria - tell Anand and Shareky that THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATS.
