Yeah, and I bet lot of that 1 billion run rate is coming from Pirelli/Cerent acquisition. I don't see any organic growth in optics --- in fact I can't recall any major optics contract EVER awarded to CSCO!

Gary keeps quoting this phantom 1 billion run rate but all the research indicates CSCO is not even registering on any market share analysis in the optical field.

I am with you Zo.........only REAL contracts that are EXECUTED where you don't get kicked out (Sprint, Telia...heheh) should count -- everything else is a PR spin.

Chamber is very desperate to try & bootstrap CSCO into a real player in the Carrier market as that is where the networking moolahs will be generated and the enterprise routers will become marginalized/commoditized like PC's and Modems!

I belive when I see it.

No you won't. Let's be realistic - you will have some excuse as to why Cisco has the business.

When Cisco announced this
cisco.com
you said something like "it will go the way of Sprint" (which by the way is still using gobs of Cisco routers).
