SAO PAULO, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Brazil's real currency opened marginally
softer against the dollar in quiet trading on Tuesday as the American unit won
back the ground it had lost on Monday.

In the first hour of trading the real was quoted at 1.790 to the dollar after
opening at 1.788, versus Monday's close of 1.784.

"The real's under a little bit of pressure today due to outflows after Monday's
gains," said a trader at a foreign bank.

The real gained 0.84 percent on Monday on dollar inflows for direct investment
and equity acquisitions amid volatility as Brazilian foreign exchange futures
expired, traders said.
