If Intel really believes that Tom wouldn't give their CPU a decent testing and or ranking, maybe Intel inadvertently [or not] sent him a "culled" cpu chip. Sure, it isn't good business, but if "everyone else" can get their test 1.1 Ghz chip to run, are they that much smarter than Tom? I can guess that it would be rather embarassing for Tom to be the second, third, or fourth "tester" to divest results. First to market, first to print.

There is a saying about ...love your enemies... and there is a lot to be said about knowing who your detractors are and act accordingly.

If it is true, I am beyond outraged. You would think that Intel or any other company would make damn sure that parts sent to the clockmeisters of the world work properly.
I am still skeptical about what happened here.
