I guess RMTR is relying on JEDEC in their attempt to get their DRAM cache technology incorporated into the DRAM's of the future. This is not incompatible with the RDRAM patents in and of itself. Using the cache with programmable latency and double rate clocking of course invokes the Rambus patents.

I doubt if RMTR will be successful with this approach. New DRAM standards require the support of INTEL or at least another major player. RAMBUS recognized this and got Sony and INTC on their team.
