Electronic Retailing<ERSI.O>in Stop&Shop contract
WILTON, Conn., June 4 (Reuter) - Electronic Retailing
Systems International Inc <ERSI.O> said Wednesday it had a
commitment to install additional ERS equipment in 21 of The
Stop & Shop Supermarket Company Stores together with an order
for a store utilizing the new generation wireless ShelfNet
system. The order and commitment are subject to negotiation
and settlement of a definitive contract including price,
delivery and other material items.
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, Inc., a subsidiary of
Ahold USA Holdings Inc <AHO.N>, operates 185 supermarkets
throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New
York. Stop & Shop has their headquarters in Quincy,
Massachusetts.

NORWALK, CT– November 8, 1999 - Electronic Retailing Systems International, Inc. ("ERS") (OTC BB:ERSI) today announced its purchases in the open market of $31,250,000 aggregate principal amount at maturity of its 13 ¼% Senior Discount Notes due February 1, 2004 (the "Senior Notes"). The aggregate purchase price to ERS for the acquired Senior Notes was $4,843,750.
