Well, we know they are floating a huge bond issue to finance expansion of PS-II production. It looks like the PS-II is going to be the consumer node of their entertainment network. This network will include broadband delivery systems for the PS-II including movies and games and perhaps live broadcasts. Sony has the HDTV quality development systems already.

They only need delivery on order systems to have a customer specific home entertainment network. Sony's is actually moving way ahead of the PC industry in its graphics technology.

The great thing about all this is that it uses RDRAM not the last generation DDR. The PC industry is running the risks associated with reactionary technology attitudes.
Some of these companies want to go back to DDR which RAMBUS bypassed as an incomplete solution to the high bandwidth problem. RDRAM deals effectively with the demands of streaming multimedia while DDR was not even addressing that problem. BILOW, SCUMBRIA, Parrot, Schuh, Dan3, Nightowl, Erich K., Halada, etc are to be condemned to the ashcan of history as technology reactionaries.
