Hi tg - this is called creative license <g>, but what do you expect a VP of marketing would say, blowing hones for competitors? To be fair, so goes the comment from Bill Conner. Chances are LU's use of ATON is marginal, from the big picture perspective. That said, it is the thrust of the article I think of values. The big boys are jockeying for positions in every segment of potentials. But more important, just as CSCO is going to leverage ARPT technologies as part of the reasons for the acquisition, NT is going to leverage ATON market position in the latter's segment as a breachhead to gain foothold in the industry group. After all, while I think 75% of backbone is quite an enviable position, success in pushing to the edge by way of Metro and serve farm etc etc will enhance the position in a synergistic manner

best, Bosco

tg, another mistake in the article is that EXTR is seen as expensive when compared to FDRY (and FFIV). Based on growth and revenues, EXTR looks less expensive to me. I guess that share price is more important to the author than market cap. tp
