Brandon,

re: We have a stock market with a valuation as high as any in the history of speculation

Well, one year ago the S&P 500 was selling at 34.62 times trailing earnings. As of Friday, it was selling at 27.87 times earnings. I would say that the market has been in a corrective phase, in relation to earnings, for almost a year.

A bubble implies that it will burst. I would say this market is acting in a very rational, deliberate manner. It is taking some of the excess out by raising stock prices slower than the earnings growth rate.

Is it still over-valued? Only someone who can read the future knows.

John

Dear Brandon: Yes, it is high, but also for my lifetime we are not in any war hot or cold, NATIONALISM is going toward Globalism, trade barriers are falling, international cooperation is rising, technology has made GREAT LEAPS forward now that monies are redistibuted out of Defense and into useful occupations, third world nations are coming out of the Stone Age. All these things work together to account for the wonderful economy the world is enjoying and that leads to increased monies available for investing and increased hope by the peoples of the World to better their lot. You gotta look at the big picture. I am not saying a pullback wont happen, but unless something changes in the scenario I described above I dont expect it to be that drastic nor last that long. JDN
