What is going to happen between now and then that investors don't already know about? They have been painfully slow with the 1.1 and who knows when anything higher will release. I don't think things are as rosy as people would like to think they are over in Germany. Maybe Sledgehammer? Maybe Dell? Yeah, right. Dave, The lack of upward movement of AMD is not due to buyers like us....its due to the lack of buying on the part of the funds. The funds started to bail before SSB made their infamous announcement re the chip stocks. They were locking in profits....I sure in case the scenario presented by SSB becomes a real possibility. Cramer's article indicates that the selling is continuing...more profits are being taken before the managers went on vacation. Now what's going to change in September? The 8/22 meeting of the feds will be a done deal; sales of PC's will pick up for back to school....guaranteeing Intel and AMD to great quarters; the presidential election will be drawing near...always a bullish time for the markets; we will be that much closer to 2001....a 2001 recession may seem less likely; attitudes change simply because summer is over and fall is here; and finally, the most compelling reason, the chance to make a second round of profits on the same stocks they sold in May and June. I am sure you have seen a good stock in a prolonged downdraft that suddenly turns around and goes back up....it happens when you least expect it. That's what I think will happen but no quarantees. ted
