Eric,

How quickly is not the only consideration for us. The one that is equally important is that ATHM is THE place where BB content and BB enabling infrastructure meet. No one else can claim that.

I'll bet that BB will become a necessity before smooth delivery of that concept can be accomplished (last mile). When that happens the public will demand that BB providers give them what they want. Good position to be in.

Never forget that electricity is a necessity too- but not a very profitable one.

It used to be one.

Youngest - Don't know what dial-up is.
I'm not exactly sure what to make of the following story- but I think it tells a lot about the shift in values regarding computers.

The purpose of the story was an attempt to illustrate that the mechanism for adoption of new things usually follows this pattern and that this is not necessarily a slow process.

His answer:
"56k".

LOL

Reminds me of a story I read somewhere. The writer had been writing a story using a typewriter and the man's young son brings his friend up to show him that his father had a printer attached to his keyboard.....way cool, Dad!

The market has lost sight of anything beyond its nose, and is punishing visionary companies and technology. Whether CDMA, or IPG, or cable BB, if you can't deliver bottom line results within a quarter or two, you are shot. When interest rate worries subside money will flow back into these companies, but not if there is a hard landing. In the meantime, ATHM is 3 bucks or so from its IPO price, so this is a second chance for those who missed the IPO :-)
