RE: SOX index. The SOXX has been above its 200 day M.A. since Octboer of '98. It came within 10% in October 99, about when AMD began taking off, and again in late May 2000 it closed within 8% of the 200 day M.A. Intraday it looks like it got within 1% in May.

It appears that the 200dma is about 930 and the SOXX closed at 955.83 today. So this is the closest (~3%) the SOXX has "spent the night" to its 200 dma in 22 months.
