tero: Your Japan and the real Japan are as far apart as Finland from Japan.

Assume you have never set foot on Japanese soil.

In any case, you must know better than the way the almost accurate info is slanted to make your "point" [sic.](or if not, your narrowness of knowledge is mindboggling).

Again, as usual, a professional job - if the intent is to use the most convoluted interpretation of the "truth" or the "facts" to make your point regardless of the basic fundamental situation. Skill of a sort.

But, sad. The stuff US politicians hire for their campaign.
Powerful arguement, unless the actual situation is known.

It is a lawyers case, just a "case" putting up the best arguments for a woefully weak client.

The tragedy is the waste of talent. You could be so helpful to those trying to learn instead of that stuff which is misleading in the extreme. Is that its purpose?

Best.

Tero,
Isn't it true that DDI is a fragmented network with extremely limited coverage right now, until the mergers take place between the 5 disparate carriers? They certainly don't have the nationwide coverage that DoCoMo has. If that's the case, which I'm pretty sure is, it would be a poor meter. EZWeb appears to be doing fine relative to size and coverage, don't you agree?

Tokyo, July 31 (Jiji Press)--The DDI Cellular group companies, the TU-KA group firms and IDO Corp. said Monday subscribers to their EZWeb mobile Internet service have topped three million.
The cell phone operators aim to raise the number of EZWeb users to five million by March 2001.

Meanwhile, the number of subscribers to rival NTT DoCoMo Inc.'s <9437> i-mode cell phone Internet service, which stood at 9.73 million as of Sunday, is expected to surpass 10 million in early August.

Tero:

Regarding the internet services offered by the three major carriers in Japan, it just seems that the carriers are mostly converting their current customers to wireless data customers, not switching customers yet. The percentage wireless data users for the three carriers for June are quite similar:

NTT Docomo - 27 percent
DDI/IDO - 26 percent (46 percent if EZweb is only available on CDMA service)
Japan Telecom - 20 percent

The June surge for Japan Telcom may just be a later push to increase penetration of internet use among its existing customers.

If EZweb is actually offered only to the IDO/DDI CDMA customers the percentage penetration for internet users for IDO/DDI may be running at double the rate (46 percent at the end of June)compared to its competitors.
