Dear Tony:

From the pictures and symptoms. Also many OC sites are telling people to verify that the heatsink is made for Socket 462 and to not use those that are for Socket 370 or Socket 7. When dealing with silicon chips, bigger hammers are exponentially more risky. When in doubt, refer to the technical Duron documentation (pdf).
