Dear Eric:

For 1 GHz Athlons, there are many examples. Three of which are United Micro, MicroPro, and Aberdeen Inc. For P3, there are none on Pricewatch. Some SD shops give you a break if you order all the parts but want to assemble them yourself.

Pete

Erick - Re: "It doesn't matter. What would you do with a 1.0 GHz Thunderbird cpu, motherboard, graphics card, RAM, cd-rom drive, hard drive, and monitor anyway? There is no distributor from whom you can obtain all these things, and you certainly couldn't make a SYSTEM if you had them anyway."

As both you and Tom Uber Alles have such a hard time with assembling the pieces, why don't you just dial the Dell 800 number and they will provide you with a system.

But that would stop your whining and would leave you unsatisfied. Informed--yes, of course--but unsatisfied because you would have no reason to continue your infantile whining.
