Allied Riser has tested AirFiber's equipment in their labs for some time, and are quite pleased with the results. They are deploying it in Chicago now, however I do not know when the commercial tests will be complete or when they may/may not roll it out nationally. G Howe

Per my recent post MRVC announced during recent conference call that they have acquired AstroTerra. About 3 months ago they acquired JOLT who is also involved in the optical access business. Plans are to put these 2 companies along with their FiberDriver business and OptiSwitch business together into a company called Optical Access. More info available on MRVC, JOLT and AstroTerra web sites. While Terrabeam and AirFiber seem to have ceased to exist (cannot find any recent news) MRVC is going full speed ahead with optical access products/business which they seem to feel is a key part of the solution to the last mile problem.
