I'm surviving the heat by staying inside where it's cool. I wish the markets were as hot as the weather but really nothing appealing to me about this
market.

Thank goodness for air conditioning!!! The Bay Area is using so much extra power in the last few days that they are talking about "rolling power outages" again. (This happened earlier in the summer.) The cities closer to S.F. have some "natural air conditioning" with the fog....but once you get outside of S.F. it has been hot!

I've sold some stocks, and have more cash than usual in my accounts...but I'm still holding some long term positions in some of the stocks I really like. There are a couple of stocks that I follow that could do well based on "news", so I don't want to be completely out of a position, regardless of their price swings.

I'm going on vacation next week...it looks like I've picked a good time to be away! I think the market will have some sort of "direction" after the August FOMC meeting, but until then, it seems like so many stocks are just drifting in a "trading range".
