Alski & All:

I sent the following message to SI tech support:

Please could you get your data provider to fix the COMS chart data to
properly reflect the PALM spin off on 7/27? The easiest way is to
adjust the historical data to reflect a 4.757:1 split, that being what
you get when you use the "official" 3Com number of 0.2102 for the cost
basis adjustment (1/0.2102=4.757). The nearest whole number "split"
corresponding to 4.757 is a 119:25 split (4.76). The present COMS chart
in SI looks like a disaster has befallen the company (a la LU, A, MOT,
NOK, or other recent debacle). It also creates an artificial "gap" from
$66 or so down to the present $12-13, which to the uninformed trader
presents significant overhead resistance.

Thanks in advance for looking into this. You're not the only ones with
this problem, CNBC has it, as do many of the real time chart services.

I've also been working on Quote.com and CNBC to fix their data feed, I suggest we have a concerted effort to get this distortion fixed. There are probably tons of investors/traders out there who just look at the charts and haven't a clue why the "gap" exists, but will trade just on its very existence.

We may not move much above the present level until this silly problem goes away.
