Shorts only have to cover IF.....

the company recovers from bankruptcy. If the company fails & becomes delisted, then the shorts NEVER have to cover & their gain is a tax free event. You must have a buy & a sell in order to trigger a taxable event. It is the classic short that shorts dream about and that comes about every 5 years or so.

Just thought I would share the other side of your coin.....
