calypso: right on--understand the significance. Lets see if we can get a grip on Revs. Any idea in this case what the server market work annually is for Sybase? Some measure--any measure?--and I'll try my hand at some assumptions re upfront fees and a per application ECC #.

Today--yet another base building day. Come on CERT, the kick is close.

Global e|security99 was a complete sellout weeks before the event,
so REGISTER NOW to guarantee your place for the World's Leading
e|security and PKI event - Orlando, Florida, September 17-20, 2000.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Since our last issue, we have seen the approval of the Digital
Signature Bill - a major event in the history of e-commerce & e-
business - which enables both enterprises and individuals to move
into the e-economy armed with the ability to authenticate
transactions without compromising privacy and integrity.

This approval completely underlines the importance of e|security
across the globe - instantly giving digital signature technology the
same recognition as the more traditional, tangible methods. The
Digital Signature Bill will springboard the use of PKI systems across
the Internet, Extranet and the Enterprise. Analysts predict that by
2003, PKI will be used in over 98% of organizations, and we at
Baltimore Technologies, together with our network of TrustedWorld
partners are leading the way in making this happen.

On July 10, Baltimore Technologies provided the e|security technology
for Ireland's President - Mary MacAleese - to digitally sign the new
Irish Electronic Commerce Bill.

2) Irish President Digitally Signs Irish Electronic Commerce Bill
_________________________________________________________________

On July 10, Baltimore Technologies provided the e-security technology
for the digital signing ceremony marking the new Irish Electronic
Commerce Bill. The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, showed her
commitment to the advancement of e-commerce in Ireland when, having
signed the Irish Electronic Commerce Bill into law in the traditional
manner, (as stipulated in the Constitution) she digitally signed the
Bill using an e-security system provided by Baltimore. This
demonstrates that the technology will from here on in have full recognition under Irish law.

3) Visa International Selects Baltimore to Provide Secure e-Commerce
Infrastructure
_________________________________________________________________

Visa International has recently selected Baltimore Technologies
secure web access solution to provide the infrastructure to secure,
protect and authenticate online payment transactions for member
banks, their customers and online merchants worldwide. After an
extensive review of competitive vendors, Visa selected the
Baltimore's secure web access solution, which met or exceeded its
strongest requirements.

Baltimore's secure web access solution enables Visa to operate its
own digital certificate management system and issue Visa-branded
digital certificates - online credentials that validate a person's
online identity. Visa digital certificates provide improved
protection of card numbers and other confidential information sent
across the Internet. By using sophisticated cryptographic techniques,
they make cyberspace a safer place for conducting business by making
Internet transactions as secure as those made "face-to-face".

4) Sony and Baltimore Japan Partner to Deliver Enhanced Biometric
e-security Solutions
_________________________________________________________________

Baltimore Japan and Sony Bionics, a division of Sony Corporation,
have agreed to join forces in promoting enhanced biometric security
solutions for e-business. This follows the successful completion of
interoperability testing between Sony's new "FIU-710" fingerprint
identification unit and Baltimore's UniCERT certificate management
system.

The Sony "FIU-710" is a unique credit card sized device that combines
standard biometric technology for fingerprint identification with the
standard digital certificate and encryption technology used in PKI
systems. It offers organizations a higher level of user
authentication through biometrics, but in a user-friendly and
standards-based fashion that fits with the current move to PKI-based
systems around the globe.

Sony Bionics is the latest addition to Baltimore's PKIWorld partner
network, which already consists of over 40 leading technology
providers.
