Bandwidth Cowboys divide MW into three segments: Long haul high capacity, medium haul medium capacity and short haul low capacity

Long haul high capacity lost against fibre, so did medium haul. Short haul low capacity which is the one I work with right now is called radio access. It provides connectivity between Base Stations and Base stations controllers.

As the cold war ended a lot of cool technology previously reserved of the military entered the civilian market. Add to that compressing technologies and we have quite good possibilities for MW technologies.

Radio access will live in our networks for quite a while: you don't need right of way, neither to dig the streets, you don't need to enter the cellar and raise through the building. Backhoes can cut them out. It scales up quite well. You can plan it today and put it up tomorrow.

One day in the future MW line of sight will slowly stop being used replaced by this Subject 33955
